2nd ODI Highlights

It demonstrates how erratic Pakistan is as a unit. Sometimes they appear to have no idea what they’re doing, and other times they surprise everyone with amazing performances.Be it their fans or opponents. They gave up over 800 runs in the opening innings of the first Test in Multan in the just finished Test series against England, but it was an incredible  comeback by them to win the series 2–1.

They lost the opening ODI here in Australia as well, but they came back strong to tie the series. The third match of the last ODI will take place in Perth. We should hopefully have an exciting match on one of the world’s fastest courses, with Inglis leading Australia in the series decider. It should be a good game because both clubs have some feisty pacers in their ranks.Nikhil is currently signing off on Harish’s behalf. See you in a few days. Peace out!

The Pakistani openers started cautiously, seaming around the new ball. The Australian pacers beat the openers several times but had no luck finding an edge. Saim Ayyub initially resisted, but once he got his attention, he simply relented. In the process, the youthful opener achieved his first fifty in an ODI. With such a low total to defend, his assault put pressure on the Australian bowlers.

Ayub dropped Zampa after 15 hours, but the leg-spinner eventually managed to take his wicket. By that point, the harm had already been done, thus it was too late. Shafiq also picked up his fifty towards the end of the chase and with knocks from their openers, Pakistan eventually won the game easily.

Rauf, who nearly gave Pakistan a victory in Monday’s opening match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, consistently hammered the bat’s outside edge of the right length. Captain Mohammad Rizwan took six catches – four off the bowling of Rauf – and would have had a seventh had he not been top-edged by Adam Jumper (18) before Australia were bowled out for 35 overs.

Mitchell Starc, Smith, Marnus Labuschran, Cummins and Hazlewood are all out for the series finale in Perth on Sunday. The game will be rested before the five-Test series against India in Perth starting November 22. Wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Inglis was named interim captain for the last ODI in Perth. He will lead the team in three T20Is against Pakistan next week with Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head on paternity leave.
